How to Volunteer
Brooklyn Law School Students
The easiest way to become involved with CLARO is by coming to a weekly clinic. No prior training or experience is necessary, and new members often choose to observe (or "shadow") law students and attorneys several times before participating. Once a student member reaches a desired comfort level, he/she may begin performing intake on their own or with a partner. BLS Students, please click here for instructions on joining CLARO/SAG's listserv.
CLARO meets every Thursday from 2:30pm to 4:30pm and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Students may visit either the afternoon or evening session, and there is no hourly/weekly time commitment required for CLARO. The clinic is held at the Kings County Civil Court at 141 Livingston Street, Room 403. Note that CLARO clinics are not held on holidays or any other date when the courthouse is closed.
On most weeks, students will meet in the BLS lobby at 2:15pm and 5:45pm and then walk over to the courthouse together. More information is sent in weekly CLARO emails, so click here to join our listserv. If you have any other questions, please email [email protected].
